Has the American church Gotten stronger or weaker in the past 40 years?

Is the church in America changing the culture or is the culture changing the church? Are followers of Jesus in the U.S. being the salt and light that Jesus calls them to be? Is the American church getting stronger or weaker? Isn't it time that we search the Scriptures to find out what it is that makes a church strong and then begin to pattern our churches and lives after what the New Testament teaches? 
These kinds of questions are the reason several of us have come together to create Brother Barnabas, a ministry of encouragement to church leaders and a call to get back to doing church the way that the New Testament teaches.
